Sidney Gicheru, M.D.

Sidney Gicheru, MDA skilled Board-Certified Ophthalmologist (Eye Physician and Surgeon), Dr. Sidney Gicheru received his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University (SMU). He obtained his undergraduate degree in both Electrical Engineering and Pre-Medical education. He received his Medical degree from the University of Texas–Southwestern Medical School. Thereafter, he completed a Medical Internship at the prestigious Beth Israel Hospital /Harvard Medical School training program. He then went on to complete a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas – Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He founded LaserCare Eye Center, P.A. in 2000.

As a comprehensive Ophthalmologist, Dr. Gicheru provides a wide range of eye care services including LASIK surgery, No Stitch, No Shot, Small incision Cataract surgery, ReSTOR lens replacement surgery, Laser treatments for Glaucoma and Diabetes, Eyelid Plastic surgery, Comprehensive eye exams and Contact lenses/Glasses exams. With his background in Electrical Engineering, he uses the very latest laser technology, while focusing on patient safety. It is no wonder that he has performed surgeries on numerous area Doctors and their family members.

Dr. Gicheru is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the International Society of Refractive Surgeons and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He serves on the Executive Council of the Texas Ophthalmological Association. He is affiliated with the area’s leading health facilities and health networks including Irving-Coppell Surgical Hospital, Baylor Health Center at Irving-Coppell, Las Colinas Medical Center, Baylor Medical Center at Irving and other hospitals in the area.

Dr. Gicheru has a real commitment for teaching. In addition to his private practice, he serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at UT-Southwestern Medical School, where he teaches new doctors the latest techniques in Eye Surgery. In 2003 and 2006, the Medical School awarded Dr. Gicheru with an Outstanding Service Award for his work with his students. He has given numerous lectures on such topics as LASIK, Cataract surgery, Glaucoma and Diabetic Retinopathy.

On a personal note, Dr. Gicheru was born in Superior, Wisconsin. He has lived in the DFW metroplex for over 20 years. He is married and has one son. For recreation, he enjoys running, hiking, cycling, world travel, electronic gadgetry and golf.

Kristine Hien Nguyen-Ngo, M.D.

Kristine Hien Nguyen-Ngo, MDKristine Hien Nguyen-Ngo, M.D.is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist. She obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of California at Davis. This was followed by Graduate school in the Department of Physiology at the University of California at Davis. She then obtained her medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Following this, she completed an Internal Medicine Internship at St. Paul Medical Center in Dallas and an Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

Dr. Nguyen-Ngo has been in Ophthalmology private practice since 1991. She provides a wide range of eye care services including Cataract surgery, Laser treatments for Glaucoma and Diabetes, Eyelid surgery, Comprehensive eye exams and Contact lenses/Glasses exams. She is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She is on the medical staff of Irving-Coppell Surgical Hospital, Baylor Health Center at Irving-Coppell, RHD Medical Center, Baylor Medical Center at Irving and other hospitals in the area. She lives in Dallas with her husband and two sons. In her spare time, she loves to travel and read. She also speaks fluent French.

Charles R. Norman, M.D.

Dr. NormanCharles R. Norman, M.D. is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma. He completed his Medical degree at the University of the of Oklahoma College of Medicine, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He obtained a Medical Internship and Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

Dr. Norman has been in Ophthalmology private practice since 1990. He provides a wide range of eye care services including Comprehensive eye exams and Contact lenses/Glasses exams. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has lived in the DFW metroplex since 1990. He is married. In his spare time, he enjoys biking and travel. He also has a keen interest in missionary work. He has a Masters of Arts degree from Dallas Theological Seminary and has done Mission work around the world.

Abby L. Fisher, O.D.

Dr. Abby Fischer Dr. Fisher is an Board Certified Therapeutic Optometrist with a specialty in Glaucoma. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Zoology from Miami University of Ohio. From there, she received her Doctor of Optometry degree for the Ohio State University College of Optometry. She was on the Dean's list for 7 quarters and graduated Cumme Laude. She then served as a faculty member at the University of Houston School of Optometry. She was as a Adjunct Assistant Professor and helped in training new Optometrists. She has been in Optometry private practice in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex since 2008. She provides a wide range of eye care services including Comprehensive Eye care, Glasses exams and the management of Post-LASIK Post-Cataract surgery and Glaucoma patients. She specializes in Contact lenses exams including Soft lenses, Rigid gas permeable lenses and difficult fits such as Keratoconus. She is contracted with Medical insurance Plans, as well as several Vision Plans. She is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, the Texas Optometric Association and the Dallas County Optometric Society.

Dr. Fisher was born in Pittsburg, PA and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. She has an identical twin sister. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and swimming. She is a big fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers. One of her great loves is serving the community as a volunteer. She has done work with the Special Olympics, the Lion's club and did a International service project in Tanzania. She also serves as mentor in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program.
