Cataract IOL Dallas

What are the Cataract IOLs (Intraocular Lenses) options

A cataract is a clouding of your natural lens. During cataract surgery your eye surgeon will remove your natural lens and replace it with an intraocular lens. Today, there are many options to correct your vision at the same time of cataract surgery reducing or eliminating the need for glasses.

Crystalens
Multifocal lens designed to mimic the natural movement of the eye. The Crytstalens works to allow focusing at near, intermediate and far limited or eliminating the need for glasses.

Toric Lens Implant
Offers correction of far distance for patients with astigmatism. Regular standard cataract lenses do not correct for astigmatism so there is still a need for distance glasses.

ReSTOR
Corrects for a full range of vision after cataract surgery. The ReSTOR lens greatly reduces or eliminates the need for glasses at near and far distance.

Symfony IOL
Maintains visual acuity over a wide range of distances.

Monfocal IOL
A monofocal IOL will only replace the cloudy natural lens with a new clear lens. The expectation should be that you will require glasses for reading and/or far distance even if you didn’t require glasses before.
