We have an Optical shop in our Irving-Coppell Office. The Optical at LaserCare Eye Center offers a wide selection of frames for children, teens and adults. You may choose from designer frames or frames to fit your budget. Our on-site licensed optician will personally help you in your frame selection, fit and measurement. Some patients may benefit from our on-site lab with the option to have their glasses made the same day.

What are the three O's of Eye Care?

Eye care specialists come in 3 flavors: Opticians: specialize in the sale and fitting of glasses. Optometrists: specialize in Glasses exams, Contact lenses exams and Medical treatment of eye diseases. Ophthalmologists: specialize in Glasses exams, Contact lens exams and Medical and Surgical treatment of the eye.

Optical ShopWhat qualifications should an Optician have?

An Optician specializes in the fitting of Glasses. To become an Optician, one takes a course followed by several years of apprenticeship. To be certified, one must pass a stringent test given by the American Board of Opticianry. Most Opticians are not board certified. When getting glasses, it is always advised that you ensure that the Optician is board certified.

Who is Michael Quinn?

Our Senior Optician, Michael Quinn, is a Board Certified Optician. He has 14 years of experience as an Optician. Dr. Gicheru selected him to be the Senior Optician for LaserCare Eye Center. Michael and the Doctors at LaserCare Eye Center believe that patients can achieve their best vision using the highest quality Optical materials. We do not cut corners.
