What are the three O’s of Eye Care?
Eye care specialists come in 3 flavors: Opticians: specialize in the sale and fitting of glasses. Ophthalmologists: are eye surgeons who specialize in glasses exams, contact lens exams and medical and surgical treatment of the eye.
What qualifications should an Optician have?

To be certified, one must pass a stringent test given by the American Board of Opticianry. Most Opticians are not board certified.
