Dr. Sidney Gicheru - Dallas Ophthalmologist
Sydney Wendt, M.D. is a skilled and compassionate ophthalmologist who will be joining LaserCare Eye Center in August 2026. Dr. Wendt was born and raised in Plano, Texas, and is excited to return home to serve patients in the Dallas-Fort Worth community.
Dr. Wendt Training and Education
Dr. Wendt completed her undergraduate studies in Biomedical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. She obtained her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where she initially developed a strong interest in ophthalmology.
Dr. Wendt completed her ophthalmology residency training at the prestigious UCLA Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles, California, where she received extensive clinical and surgical training in comprehensive ophthalmology. During residency, she developed a particular passion for cataract and refractive surgery and is committed to using the latest surgical technologies and techniques to deliver exceptional visual outcomes.
Dr. Wendt Medical Experience
Dr. Wendt provides comprehensive eye care with interests including cataract surgery, refractive cataract surgery, LASIK and vision correction, and the medical management of ocular disease. She is dedicated to helping patients achieve their best possible vision while emphasizing individualized, patient-centered care and excellent patient outcomes.
Outside of work, Dr. Wendt enjoys fitness and spending time at the gym, cheering on the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Cowboys, baking, and relaxing outdoors or at the beach. She looks forward to returning home to Dallas and exploring the city’s restaurants, outdoor spaces, and vibrant community.
