Dr. Husain is a comprehensive Ophthalmologist, who is also an experienced LASIK and Cataract surgeon. She comes to LaserCare Eye Center after working in private practice in San Antonio.
Dr. Husain obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She graduated Magna Cum Laude. During her time in college, she did an international exchange program at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. She completed her M.D. degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. She served as President of her Medical School Class. Her Medical internship and Ophthalmology residency was completed at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
She provides a wide range of eye care services including Comprehensive Eye exams, Cataract surgery, Intravitreal injections for Macular Degeneration and Diabetic Retinopathy, Laser treatments for Glaucoma and Diabetes and Pterygium surgery. She believes in presenting eye findings in an understandable manner, so patients can be their own best advocates.
Dr. Husain is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Medical Association. In addition to publishing book chapters on many eye-related topics, she has also presented her research at academic meetings.
Dr. Husain was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Tarpon Springs, Floria. She has lived in Texas with her husband and son since 2010. She enjoys travel and art. She moved from San Antonio to be closer to her family. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family.
